A Wildwoman Creation interpretation of the 1940's Halo Hat. Wet Felted with an open crown. Some accented with wearable art pins which can be worn on the hat or alone. Each hat is created by wet felting by hand and can have inclusions in the wool that fuse with the wool when you add water, soap and massage. Then the hat is formed by placing the material on my head, pinning (the felt, not my head) and then sewing the folds in place. Or something like that. It all flows, so hard to describe the process.
Shades of blue India cotton gauze is fused with the wool to create this one of a kind blue halo hat. The surface texture of the hat is created by the shrinking of the wool which draws the cotton gauze into wonderful soft miniature folds and crevices.
The hat fits a normal size head with some give 21 1/2" to 22" circumference
This particular hat is accented with a Wildwoman Fused glass pin created to match the hat and designed to be worn on the hat or alone.
